Who We serve
Individual EAP/EAL Sessions
Our individual Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP) and Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) sessions consist of experiential learning activities with horses on the ground and draw from metaphors to promote self-awareness and emotional growth. Faith based EAP and EAL rests in the foundation of biblical teaching and the invitation of the Holy Spirit in guiding these ground-based sessions with horses. Biblical scripture, prayer, and the Holy Spirit are utilized within equine activities for healing and restoration of mind, body, and spirit.
In Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP) sessions, clients work with our licensed professional mental health therapists and certified equine specialists alongside our horses to accomplish individual goals. Goals commonly address issues related to trauma, depression, anxiety, self-esteem and spiritual distress. Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) sessions facilitated by our certified equine specialists are designed to serve those wanting to build skills in areas such as leadership, communication, self-confidence and problem-solving without the presence of a licensed professional counselor or therapist being needed.
Both individual EAP and EAL typically serve individuals ages 8 years old or older for 6-8 sessions depending on the particular client. We are happy to help discern whether EAP or EAL might be a beneficial service for you. Please email us if you are interested in services.
Weekend Workshop Series
As we kick-off our ministry, our focus for weekend workshops will be Primary Support Members of those with mental health conditions.
Primary Support members are those who take on a “caregiver role” by providing primary care for another person with a mental health condition. According to the National Alliance on Mental Illness, “At least 8.4 million people in the U.S. provide care to someone with a mental or emotional health issue.” We know that being a primary support member often depletes extensive emotional energy, resulting in feeling overwhelmed, distressed, and isolated.
With the guidance of the Holy Spirit, faith-based equine assisted learning activities can leverage the healing power of the human-horse connection to help primary support members by:
Providing emotional support
Improving communication skills
Increasing self-reflection and personal growth
Coping with stress and traumatic experiences
Facilitating faith-based spiritual connections
“Yet those who wait for the Lord will gain new strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles, they will run and not get tired, they will walk and not become weary.”
Isaiah 40:31
